Marketplace Terms

1. What the Marketplace is, and is not

COMBINE PROVIDES A CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING VENUE ONLY. We do not process payments for Marketplace items, hold funds in escrow, offer buyer or seller protection, verify items, or handle shipping or delivery. Every transaction, payment and delivery happens directly between two users, entirely off our platform.

We are not a party to any sale. We cannot recover your money, retrieve an item, or force either side to complete a transaction. If a sale goes wrong, it is between you and the other person.

2. Who can list, and who can buy

Listing an item requires an active paid subscription. Buying requires only a signed-in account.

The Marketplace exists for families to pass on gear their own athlete has outgrown or no longer uses. It is not a storefront. Do not use it for bulk resale, dropshipping, or to operate a retail business, and do not list the same item repeatedly to keep it at the top.

3. How listings work

Each listing may carry up to seven photographs. Photographs must be of the actual item you are selling — not stock images, not the manufacturer's product photo.

Listings expire automatically 30 days after they are posted. Mark an item sold when it sells.

Categories are Bats, Gloves, Catcher's gear, Cleats and turfs, Training aids and tech, Apparel and bags, and Other. Choose the one that fits.

Describe the item honestly: correct size, correct model, real condition, and any damage, wear or repair. If you would be annoyed to receive it in the state it is actually in, say so in the listing.

You must own what you list and have the right to sell it. Do not list team-issued equipment that belongs to a club, school or organization.

4. What may not be listed

• Anything that is not baseball or softball equipment. This is a gear marketplace, not a general classifieds board.
• Bats that are decertified, altered, rolled, shaved, or missing their certification stamp. Selling a doctored bat for youth play is both a safety issue and a cheating issue.
• Used batting helmets, and used catcher's helmets, masks or chest protectors. Protective equipment that has taken an impact can look undamaged and no longer protect. We do not permit second-hand head or chest protection on this platform at any price.
• Supplements, nutrition products, or anything ingestible.
• Counterfeit or replica gear.
• Weapons, illegal goods, hazardous materials, and anything else prohibited under our Terms of Service.
• Recruiting services, showcase promotion, coaching services, or anything for sale that is not a physical item.

5. Buying and selling safely

Most sales on this platform are between people in different states who will never meet. Treat it accordingly.

Paying and shipping

Use a payment method that gives you recourse if the item never arrives. Be wary of any seller who insists on a wire transfer, gift cards, or an irreversible cash transfer app. Ship with tracking, and keep the tracking number until the buyer confirms receipt.

Meeting in person

If you are meeting locally, meet in a public place in daylight — many police stations have a designated exchange area. Bring another adult. Do not send a child to complete a handoff alone, and do not arrange to meet a buyer or seller at a child's home, school, or practice.

Talking to each other

Keep the conversation in our messaging system. It is rate-limited, blockable and reportable; a text thread with a stranger is none of those things.

6. Messages attached to a listing

A message thread attached to a listing closes automatically 14 days after the item is marked sold, and immediately if a moderator hides the listing. If you need to stay in touch with someone after a sale, exchange details before the thread closes.

7. Moderation

Listings that break these rules are hidden rather than deleted. We record who hid the listing, when, and the stated reason. Repeated violations, or any attempt to sell prohibited protective equipment, will cost you access to the Marketplace and may cost you your account.

We do not mediate disputes between buyers and sellers, and we will not decide who is right.

8. Reporting

Use the report control on any listing. Fraudulent listings, counterfeit gear, and prohibited protective equipment should all be reported, and you do not need to have been the buyer to report one.
